Here are some key takeaways and next steps for your team!
Hi there,
We missed you at our H-2A Compliance Webinar led by two experts, Jeanne Malitz and Ruben Lugo. They provided guidance on H-2A regulations and addressed a lot of attendee compliance questions!
Some takeaways from the discussion:
Train supervisors and crew leads on progressive discipline, documentation, and new requirements for "designated representatives" and "termination for cause." Ensure a clear protocol is in place and provide training, as DOL investigators will focus on first-line supervisors.
Use objective language to set clear production and performance standards. State specific and quantifiable requirements such as "must follow company safety policies or food safety standards" or "must be capable of performing job as defined in job order", rather than vague and subjective expectations like "keeping up with the pace of the crew."
A rigorous & transparent recruitment process will enhance employee performance and minimize these risks for you. Learn how our Ganaz Good Fit Assessment will help bring you the right workers for your needs.
While not obligated to rehire workers for next season, carefully review supervisor recommendations to prevent retaliation. Maintain open communication with workers to address complaints and avoid potential retaliation issues. Ganaz Workforce Communication can help with this!
We're committed to making the H-2A program easier to navigate so employers reduce compliance risks while maximizing productivity and cost-effectiveness. Watch this short video to learn more.
